Our comprehensive Statistics and Data Management service has contributed to a pioneering, improved, bowel cancer screening test (faecal immunochemical test or FIT). The NICE FIT trial, done by the NHS in collaboration with HMR [link to NHS video], aimed to establish the diagnostic accuracy of the FIT kit in symptomatic patients. HMR played an important role in shaping this innovative study, from input about population size, designing and managing a database of almost 10,000 patients from across 50 sites, to doing the statistical analysis. This trial is just one of many examples of how we’ve shared our expertise to help improve NHS services.
