Who are we?

Who We Are
  • Background

We offer a full service for phase 1 and early phase 2 trials. Functions that our competitors outsource, such as laboratory services, pharmacy and endoscopy, are done in-house. Our independence from third parties ensures that all elements of your trial receive the attention they deserve, and meet our high standards. Yet, we're close to the ITU and CCU of an NHS hospital.

Hammersmith Medicines Research Our sponsors benefit from:

    • 145 beds in a purpose-designed building, close to an NHS hospital
    • the wide range of trials that we can do, as shown by our extensive publications
    • the experience of our 200 staff: 40% have 5-20 years' experience
      at HMR
    • our highly automated on-site laboratory, with rapid turnaround
      and wide range of tests
    • our industry-leading pharmacy, with its sterile production units
      for non-radioactive and radioactive materials
    • our experienced and efficient data management and statistics team

    Hammersmith Medicines Research

Our reputation for high-quality trials completed on schedule is what keeps sponsors coming back to us. We've maintained high quality work by building up services over 20 years - we haven't become too big, too quickly.

  • Our work

We've successfully completed over 650 early-phase trials since 1993, so our experience is hard to beat. Many of our trials are demanding, difficult to recruit for, or have complex elements and procedures beyond the capabilities of other CROs.

  • Our sponsors

Easy transport links to Heathrow make us a convenient choice for sponsors world-wide. Our international business has won us two Queen's Awards. Our relationships with some sponsors have grown over 20 years. We put great effort into nurturing new sponsors, whether big or small.

Sources of HMR trials, 1993–2013 (n=620)

HMR is unique among CROs: if you call us about a potential trial, your enquiry will go directly to our Medical Director, Principal Investigators and Clinical Project Managers – the people who know all about clinical trials and would be intimately involved with yours. So, when you pick up the phone, you’ll speak to someone who understands your needs, and can offer advice based on long experience.
